It started almost a decade ago as a cool place to store great wine – a purpose-built, temperature-controlled environment where Queensland’s wine lovers could keep their coveted collections catalogued and on call.
Today Wineaway is not only Queensland’s largest and most popular wine storage and wine management destination - a highly-specialised “cellar extraordinary”- it’s also a virtual, (and actual), meeting place where over a thousand wine lovers and wine collectors from all across Australia come together regularly to buy, share and celebrate the finest wines of Australia and the world.
At the heart of Wineaway is a close-knit team that is passionate about bringing you the most exciting and sought after local and international wines, from new releases and new labels to rare and exotic vintages.
If your passion is for aged wines, Wineaway’s exclusive Museum List offers the opportunity to purchase wines and vintages that are seldom seen in even the best of wine stores. Not only that, our Museum List wines have the added benefit of immaculate provenance, having been professionally cellared since release.

Scott Farraway
Director/ Owner Wineaway
13 years ago Scott became fascinated about wine, and as with everything Scott becomes fascinated about, it soon became all consuming. After spending nearly every night for the next 3 years reading about wine, contacting winemakers, visiting wineries and wine stores, and then working short stints in wine retail and then a wine and general storage business, Scott set up Wineaway, a business dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of fine wine. Wineaway is essentially Scott’s life work, something he has been passionately dedicated to for the past decade. The business has been operated with one overarching value throughout the years and that is to ‘do unto others (and their wine) as you would have them do unto you’. The journey has been long and there have been many barriers, but to this day the philosophy has never been compromised, and never will be, and it is the essential ingredient to Wineaway’s success.
Scott’s doesn’t have a favourite drop – he enjoys everything except New World Sauvignon Blanc.

Felicity Farraway
Co Director/ Owner Wineaway
It is surprising where life’s path can take you. If you had asked Felicity in her early 20’s if she would be in the wine industry, she would have said “absolutely not, wine… horrible stuff!”. However a honeymoon overseas, and a wine rack wedding gift that needed to be filled, sparked a chain of events that would eventually lead to the birth of Wineaway. With the commencement of Wineaway and the desire to support her husband, Felicity did not only learn to appreciate wine, but felt privileged to be part of an industry with such a glorious history and wonderful traditions…where wine and food shared in good company makes for special moments and memories in our lives. You will see Felicity from time to time at the office or more likely at one of Wineaway’s events, however with 3 young children and a 4th on the way, the role of full-time Mum is now taking over. Felicity’s favourite drop is vintage Champagne!

Jody Calvert
General Manager
Jody was at the coalface when Wineaway began over 9 years ago during the highly difficult and stressful formative years. Having ensured that Wineaway bucked the trend of the majority of start-up businesses, Jody then did what most 25 year olds wish to do - travel.
On her return to Australia Jody spent the next 7 years working in the Advertising Industry as a Creative Services Manager/Agency Producer and Post Production Producer. Eager for a sea change, Jody rejoined team Wineaway at the end of November 2007 to once again assist Scott in managing the business and taking Wineaway to newer heights. The role is diverse and very hands on, and you will find Jody doing just about everything there is to do at Wineaway.
Jody’s favourite drops are Pinot Noir & Champagne

Amanda Lerch
Cellar Manager
Amanda joined the Wineaway team in September 2008 and it was a perfect match. In the first few months it became evident that Amanda thrived on working directly with wine and now manages all handling of clients’ wines into and out of the cellar. Not only is Amanda a wine enthusiast like the rest of us, but she has taken it a step further by studying a Bachelor of Wine Science through Charles Sturt University. Keen to know all there is about wine, and to one day be a winemaker in her own right, Amanda is a valuable member of the Wineaway team. Amanda’s favourite drops are Sangiovese and Riesling.
