AS BOUTIQUE AS IT GETS! Mornington Small Batch Offer
On the hunt for boutique and unique? Well, you can’t get much more boutique than being hailed as “the smallest commercial winemaking business in Australia”!*
The Telera vineyard at Red Hill measures less than half an acre, so as you can imagine, production is extremely limited. In one recent (troublesome) year, only 33 bottles were produced of one of the core range. These extremely small batch wines are not available anywhere else in Queensland, and can generally only be found in some of Melbourne and Sydney’s premium venues and retailers.
Last week, we were fortunate enough to visit with Winemaker Michael Telera of Telera Wines and check out the Mornington operation. That we are so swiftly shouting the wines’ praises to you is testament to their quality.
Telera are part of the new vanguard of winemakers on the Mornington peninsula – adventurous and experimental, while still respecting and continuing the time honoured traditions of the region. Winemaker Michael Telera has been a part of Paradigm Hill for almost ten years, first as cellarhand and then assistant winemaker under the exceptional tutelage of George Mihaly. Over that time he has carefully honed his skills and eventually developed his own brand using the facilities at Paradigm Hill. It is a true labour of love, and the exceptional quality and uniqueness of the wines reflect that extra dash of TLC.
After trying the Telera wines, we dare say Michael has achieved his goal: “I want to create an experience with the wine I produce; I don’t want people to forget it. The pursuit has always been to find a symphony in a glass.”
