Bannockburn Serre Pinot Noir 2019
Variety: Pinot Noir
Critic Score: 96 Points

Drink From: 2021
Drink To: 2031
Medium to deep red colour with a tinge of purple and a grass-hay, dried-herb, savoury bouquet of real depth and interest. There's a balsamic herb and spicy whole-bunch overtone, fullish body, and amplitude throughout the mouth that lingers long on the aftertaste. A thorougly satisfying pinot of depth and complexity. The fleshy, high-extract richness, velvet tannins and persistence of flavour add up to a wine of real gravitas. Drink 2021 to 2031. Tasted June 2021. 96pts Huon Hooke
From a pinot noir vineyard planted in the 1980s. Stunning pinot noir. Complex, confident, silken and sustained. So much earth, so much undergrowth, so much sweet, meaty spice and such positive traces of twigs and wood. But it’s the fruit, cherried, beet-like, ripe at low alcohol levels, suede soft, convincing, that really shines, and really gets the job done. We’re in elite territory here. Tasted June 2021. 95pts Campbell Mattinson
