Tasting Notes

Burghound - Don't Miss! This really has changed very little since I last reviewed it in 2010 as it remains a truly stunning wine. As such, I have repeated the same note here: A strikingly elegant nose that combines a hint of mineral reduction with very ripe fruit that is beginning to acquire the initial hints of secondary development. Interestingly, there is an almost Chablis-like hint of iodine that adds to the overall appeal. The clean, pure, precise and dazzlingly intense and tautly muscled flavors exude a fine minerality before culminating in a driving, focused and explosive finish that is akin to an all out assault on the palate. An absolute knockout of sophistication and harmony. Tasted July 2012. Allen Meadows - Burghound
