Tasting Notes

Remarkably, the color is quite pale and does not resemble at all the typical golden tint found on most '06s today. There is a really lovely purity to the reserved but very pretty nose of essence of stone, white fruit and a whiff of citrus. Consistent with the nose there is excellent vibrancy and delineation to the elegant and overtly stony middle weight flavors that are still relatively tightly wound on the notably dry but not really austere finale. While this is already drinking well, it could easily be held for a few more years first in the hopes of developing a bit more overall depth. Even so, this is really quite good and I was impressed given the vintage. Note however that two other bottles were unfortunately premoxed. Allen Meadows
