Tasting Notes

A splendid bottle of this wine, quite eclipsing the previous one. Brilliant purple-tinged colour, not too dark. The aroma tells of pristine cabernet fruit: red and darker fruits, but mostly red, raspberry and cassis uppermost, laced with crushed-leafy high-notes of ripe cool-grown cabernet sauvignon. Balsamic herbs, fragrant and charming. Medium-full bodied and supremely elegant. An outstanding cabernet, very much in the classic Yarra Valley idiom. Tasted April 2021. Huon Hooke

Includes 3% cabernet franc and 1% petit verdot, matured in French oak (35% new) for 14 months. Marries intensity, purity and silky mouthfeel. It has length and balance to the medium-bodied cassis-dominant flavours. Tasted Mar 2020. 96pts James Halliday
