It required aggressive swirling to coax the super-spicy and elegant nose to reveal plum liqueur, dark cherry and sandalwood scents. The marvelously refined middle weight flavors possess a beguiling satin-like texture yet there is no lack of punch on the wonderfully long, complex and well-balanced finish. Make no mistake however because while this may be classy and sophisticated, there is plenty of supporting structure and this will need time. Allen Meadows
