Tasting Notes

This is winemaker Andrew Quin's one unique wine from the vintage; the grapes are grown on the D4 Block, a small section of the vines next to the cellar door; 40 days on skins. There is so much fruit concentration in the full-bodied palate that the alcohol is simply a number, the oak long since swallowed by the fruit; blackberry, black cherry and licorice aromas spear through the bouquet, the rich and supple palate feeding off a similar suite of fruit flavours, the ripe tannins perfectly balanced, and sustaining the long finish. In the context of its style, hard to beat.
