Tasting Notes

There’s a very fresh, perfumed, violet-like edge to the nose with fresh vanilla and a leafy edge, as well as a cedar and cassis notes. Smells regal and super vibrant. The palate has a beautifully articulated frame of ripe tannin and a powerful yet contained delivery of ripe dark cherries and blackberries with a cedary, spicy edge, too. Impressive now, but best from 2025. Screw cap. Tasted March 2020. Nick Stock for James Halliday

Lenton Brae – Established in 1982 by Bruce and Jeanette Tomlinson , the property is next door to Mosswood & Bruce took the advice of Bill Pannell who commented on the qualities of the land that had been sub divided. Son Ed Tomlinson has been the chief winemaker for many years and has forged a reputation for making outstanding wines that offer tremendous value !

The late architect Bruce Tomlinson built a strikingly beautiful winery (heritage-listed by the Shire of Busselton), now in the hands of winemaker son Edward (Ed), who consistently makes elegant wines in classic Margaret River style. A midwinter (French time) trip to Pomerol in Bordeaux to research merlot is an indication of his commitment. 5 Star Winery - James Halliday.
