Tasting Notes

(vinified with 50% whole clusters; the Fuées and Baudes were completely destemmed; 50% new oak): Alluring high-pitched perfume of red raspberry, peony and blood orange, with complicating oak spices. Densely packed and juicy, with a strong element of spicy oak currently keeping the primary fruit flavors in check. Boasts superb concentration and saline depth even if it's quite backward today. Finishes with a note of licorice and substantial tannins that reach the front teeth. Offers outstanding potential but this Amoureuses will be difficult to drink in its youth. Stephen Tanzer
