Tasting Notes

Denser smelling wine than the Simpatico – concentration up a notch – more to blackberry, more brooding, shows some pretty vanilla nougat oak and sweet baking spices, kind of an aromatic black tea smell – the one that often precedes tannin (c.f. neb and BDX). Full bodied, mouthful of dark ripe fruit, fresh berried though, fleshy dense tannin – lovely texture with all that tannin rippling out through the palate. Length is very good. Significant even. Inky tannin and all that stuff. Boysenberry and fresh blackberry bobs up in the aftertaste. Needs a fair bit of time. Gary Walsh
