Tasting Notes

Deep red-ruby color.  Cool, high-pitched aromas of blackberry, redcurrant, orange zest, licorice, pepper and cardamom.  Large-scaled but primary and light on its feet; silky in texture but a bit hardened today by the CO2.  Shows intriguing citrus peel notes:  is it the excess gas or the cool site?  Finishes firmly tannic, with a sexy spice character.  Tricky to taste today:  I would not be surprised if the finished wine rated a score at the top end of my projected range.
