Tasting Notes

Includes 9% cabernet sauvignon, both components estate-grown, planted '95; hand-picked and hand-sorted, open-fermented for 30 days on skins, then 14 months in French barriques (90% new). One of the best, if not the best, Tasmanian merlots, the bouquet still fragrant, the palate likewise, in each case with bright red fruits to the fore, savoury/foresty characters providing the undercarriage. Basically ready now, but can be cellared confidently for another 5+ years.
