Tasting Notes

Healthy dark red. Piquant high-pitched scents of raspberry, bitter cherry and crushed rock. Wonderfully dense, bright and light on its feet, offering terrific rose petal lift to its pungent red berry and saline mineral flavors. A pure expression of crushed-stone terroir, and yet there's also a silkiness here that suggests a gentle extraction. The tannins are very suave but the wine shows signs of closing down in the bottle and will need patience. I'm not sure if I'd pick this brisk, sharply delineated beauty as a 2015. Stephen Tanzer
