Tasting Notes

It’s very Old Patch with a bit of lift, dark fruit and earth, Dutch liquorice, touch of toasty spicy vanilla oak and a peaty smokiness. Pushing into fuller-bodied, has depth and resonance, like sinking into a big Chesterfield lounge, such is the feel, along with cool acidity, ferrous tannin, and very good length. It looks much better today, a day on from my initial tasting, which is a good sign that this dense and stylish wine will need a bit of extra love in the cellar. Gary Walsh - Winefront
