Tasting Notes

Some of you may recall that I visited Cornu several years ago, ultimately buying what I believed to be the ‘best barrel in the winery from the Domaine’s 2016 vintage’. That wine, the 2016 Cornu Les Rognets Corton Grand Cru, continues to evolve into a delicious, ethereal wine. Scott Farraway

A restrained bouquet that develops with time in the glass and when it opens it shows fine aromas of violets, undergrowth, liquorice and a hint of caramel with notes of blueberry and wormwood, too. Tight, fresh acidity defines the palate backed up by red currant and a salty mineral impression which dominates the finish. Aged in new barrels, a wine of beautiful structure and great complexity.
