Established in Brisbane in 2000, Wineaway is Queensland’s largest private fine wine storage and retail destination, trusted with more than 200,000 bottles on behalf of collectors across Australia and internationally. Family-owned and based in Bowen Hills, we have provided specialist wine storage, collection management and access to exceptional fine, rare and aged wines since 2000.
Fine wine storage, properly managed
Wineaway began with a simple idea: great wine deserves to be stored properly.
Our purpose-built Brisbane cellar provides temperature and humidity-controlled storage designed to protect the condition and longevity of every bottle entrusted to us. Collections are individually catalogued, securely stored and managed through our dedicated online database, giving clients convenient access to their cellar wherever they are.
From individual bottles to substantial private collections, every wine is handled with the same level of care we would expect for our own.
Fine, rare and aged wines
Wineaway offers a carefully selected range of fine wines from Australia and the world’s leading wine regions, spanning current releases, established producers and exceptional mature bottles. Our Museum List is a particular focus, bringing together rare wines, sought-after back vintages and bottles that are increasingly difficult to source elsewhere.
With older and collectible wine, provenance is critical. As both a professional wine storage provider and specialist fine wine merchant, we are uniquely placed to offer wines with a known history of careful cellaring, handling and storage.

SCOTT FARRAWAY

In the late 1990s, Scott became fascinated with wine and, as with everything that captures his interest, it quickly became all-consuming. For the next three years he spent almost every night reading about wine, contacting winemakers and visiting wineries and wine stores, before gaining hands-on experience in wine retail and in a wine and general storage business. In 2000, he founded Wineaway, a business dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of fine wine.
Wineaway has been Scott's life work for more than a quarter of a century. Throughout that time, the business has been guided by one principle: do unto others, and their wine, as you would have them do unto you. The journey has not always been easy, but that philosophy has never been compromised, and it remains central to everything Wineaway does.
Today, Scott works alongside his wife and a small, dedicated team, sharing the very best wines with Wineaway's community of collectors and wine lovers.
His favourite wines these days come from Burgundy, Piedmont and Tuscany.
