Wineaway is a family-owned fine wine storage and specialist wine merchant based in Bowen Hills, Brisbane. Established in 2000, we provide professional wine storage, collection management and access to fine, rare and aged wines for collectors across Australia and internationally.

Wineaway is located at 41 Montpelier Road, Bowen Hills, Brisbane, approximately 500 metres from the Gasworks precinct and conveniently positioned between Brisbane's CBD and airport.

Wineaway currently cares for more than 200,000 bottles on behalf of collectors across Australia and internationally.

Wines are stored in our purpose-built, temperature and humidity-controlled cellar in Bowen Hills, Brisbane. Each collection is securely stored and professionally managed by the Wineaway team.

Our cellar is maintained at approximately 14–15.2°C and 70% relative humidity, with low-light and vibration-resistant conditions designed for the long-term storage of fine wine.

Yes. Each collection is allocated to a secure individual client locker, with access managed by the Wineaway team.

Yes. We store collections of many sizes, from individual bottles and a few treasured cases through to substantial private cellars.

Yes. Wines can be delivered personally or sent directly to Wineaway by a winery, wine merchant, distributor or other third party. Our team will receive, inspect and catalogue the wines before placing them into storage.

Each wine is inspected and catalogued on arrival before being placed into our temperature and humidity-controlled cellar. It is then recorded in your personal online cellar, with new arrivals generally visible within 1–2 working days.

Yes. Wineaway clients have access to a dedicated online cellar where they can view their stored collection at any time. You can also add information such as purchase prices, drinking windows and tasting notes to help manage your cellar over time.

Retrieval requests can be submitted through your online cellar. Our team will locate and prepare the requested wines for collection or delivery, generally by the following business day.

Wineaway charges storage by the bottle rather than by fixed locker space, so you pay only for the wine you store with us.

Monthly storage: $0.30 per standard bottle
Handling inwards: $0.50 per standard bottle
Retrieval: $1.00 per standard bottle

Yes. Wineaway charges storage by the bottle rather than by fixed locker space, so you only pay for the number of bottles held in your collection. This means you are not paying for unused space when your collection changes in size over time.

A 12-month minimum storage period typically applies to wines stored with Wineaway.

No. There is no obligation to transfer wine immediately, and storage charges begin once your wines arrive with us.

Yes. Wineaway offers a carefully selected range of fine wines from Australia and the world's leading wine regions, spanning current releases, established producers, rare bottles and exceptional mature wines.

The Wineaway Museum List brings together rare wines, sought-after back vintages and mature bottles that can be difficult to source elsewhere. Provenance and storage history are particularly important considerations when we offer older and collectible wines.

Provenance is the history of a bottle: where it came from, how it was acquired and, importantly, how it has been stored over time. With mature and collectible wine, this history can be particularly important because two bottles of the same wine and vintage may have experienced very different storage conditions.

Wine continues to develop in bottle, and prolonged exposure to unsuitable temperatures or significant temperature fluctuations can affect its condition and development. Because storage-related issues are not always visible from the outside of a bottle, knowing its history provides an additional level of confidence when buying mature wine.

Our wines are primarily sourced directly from wineries, Australian importers and distributors, or from private collections with provenance that meets our standards. Some wines offered through Wineaway have also been cellared with us for many years, giving us direct knowledge of their storage history.

No. Wineaway does not purchase wine at auction for the purpose of reselling it. Our approach is to source wines through channels where we can establish an appropriate level of confidence in their origin, condition and provenance.

Where provenance information is available, yes. If you are considering an older or collectible wine, our team can provide the information we hold regarding its source and storage history.

Yes. Wineaway acquires selected private wine collections where the wines, condition and provenance meet our requirements.

We consider factors including the producers, wines and vintages within the collection, overall condition, provenance and storage history. Not every collection will be suitable for purchase, and each is assessed individually.

Yes. We can consider collections that have been stored outside Wineaway, although condition, provenance and storage history will form an important part of our assessment.

Yes. Our Bowen Hills premises includes a reception and tasting area, fine wine showroom cellar, tasting bar and lounge, as well as a private tasting and function room.

Yes. Wineaway hosts selected wine tastings, masterclasses and special events throughout the year. Our upstairs private tasting and function room accommodates up to 16 seated guests and includes a fully appointed kitchen for intimate wine and food experiences.
