Tasting Notes

Pale garnet colour. The perfume is a mix of red berry fruits underscored with dusty, ferrous tones, dried Mediterranean herbs and hints of baking spices and pan juices. It is savoury to taste as well, spice and a hint of volatility evident with dusty tannins adding structure and powdery texture, the spice re-emerging on the lingering finish. Excellence in a classic mould. Drink 2023–2041. - 96pts, Stephen Blandford for The Real Review

Extremely pale, with earthy strawberry, almost olive savouriness, plus bright & intense cinnamon, then on the palate you get silky tannins after a soft and elegant attack full of vibrancy that you don’t want to spit. On the finish, there is a singed touch with long, lifted persistent acidity balancing alcohol. Aged traditionally for 24 months in 45 hectolitre oak vessels. Drink 2024 to 2035. – 96pts, Decanter UK
