PYRAMID VALLEY

The wines of Pyramid Valley are born in the dramatic soils and slopes of the Waikari Estate in North Canterbury and the Manata Estate in Central Otago. Waikari is a unique site where rich, rocky, limestone and clay derived soils sit on high-altitude north and east facing slopes. In 2018 the Pyramid Valley story breathed a new chapter when they purchased a new vineyard, the Manata Estate in Lowburn, Central Otago.

Only 9 NZ Chardonnays scored a gold medal winning 95pts or better in the 2019 vintage from Huon Hooke, with Pyramid Valley’s two single vineyard sensations coming in #1 and #2. The adorable North Canterbury Chardonnay we mentioned above comes in at #7 at less than a third of the price of its siblings and it also happens to be the only gold medal winning NZ Chardonnay from this spectacular vintage coming in at less than $50/b.
