Chatto, Pooley and Andrew Thomas wines

CHATTO WINES
Perched on the banks of the Huon River, Chatto Wines showcases 25+ years of winemaking experience with Jim Chatto at the helm. Jim is also a senior wine show judge with over 20 years of experience across both regional and capital city shows and simultaneously steered the great Hunter icon Mount Pleasant back into the limelight before taking Chatto Wines to the cool of Tasmania’s Huon Valley where he creates wines that are elegant yet assertively powerful, built in a very classic mould.

POOLEY WINES
The Coal River Valley is a historic river plain that has deposits of various alluvial soils in the bends of the Coal River north-east of Hobart. Sandstone and slate outcrops feature through much of the Valley. It’s these soils that create all the footprint and signature style of Pooley wines. While being more continental, the Coal River Valley still enjoys interaction from the surrounding Southern Ocean, allowing a long ripening period moderated by the cool Tasmanian maritime climate.

ANDREW THOMAS WINES
The Braemore vineyard, planted in 1969, is situated on the sandy alluvial flats of Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley. Once an ancient sea floor, Braemore consistently produces Semillon featuring freshness, vibrancy and remarkable longevity. The deep, sandy loam soils are free draining allowing deep root penetration, perfect for Semillon. The vineyard producing wine that has achieved an enviable reputation in recent years as being one of the finest examples of classic Hunter Valley Semillon.
