This exceptional release represents an elite lieu-dit expression, sourced entirely from 23-year-old dry-grown vines situated in the Post Office block within the hallowed Hill of Grace vineyard.

The magnificent 2012 growing season in South Australia yielded a lower-than-average but remarkably high-quality crop, delivering immense fruit purity, outstanding varietal typicality, and beautifully balanced natural acidity.

Matured for 18 months in French oak hogsheads (71% new), the wine presents a deep, concentrated crimson appearance. It unfurls with a wonderfully complex, perfumed bouquet of cracked black pepper, dark plums, orange rind, anise, and subtle caramelized charcuterie.

On the palate, it seamlessly marries the natural elegance of its high-altitude terroir with a velvety, satiny texture, exhibiting impeccable balance where tightly wrapped black fruits, licorice, and earth flavors are driven forward by supple, fine-grained tannins.

Leading the critical praise for this vintage, legendary critic James Halliday of the Wine Companion awarded it 98 points, highlighting its stunning trajectory by noting it has "missile power and drive on an exact course stretching out far into the distance".
