The 2022 Euphonium is a masterfully balanced composition from a cooler, wetter season that highlighted the "art of the blender" as a safeguard for quality.

Deep crimson with bright ruby hues, the nose is an intense medley of blackcurrant, blood plum, and violets, underpinned by savory threads of crushed sage, tobacco leaf, and cedar.

The palate is "seamlessly integrated, with a velvety texture" and a vibrant energy that moves gracefully across the mouth. Fine-grained, chalky tannins provide a sophisticated frame for layers of dark forest fruits, cocoa, and baking spice.

James Suckling, awarding it 96 points, notes the wine’s exceptional "polish and class," while Ken Gargett observes it is as good a Euphonium as he can recall. The finish is remarkably long and ordered, leaving lingering impressions of bitter chocolate, mulberry, and cigar box.
