A standout success from the rejuvenated hills of Brusnengo, the 2016 Bramaterra is a masterpiece of "power, structure and dimension," according to Antonio Galloni of Vinous. Benefiting from a long growing season in the volcanic, porphyritic sands of Alto Piemonte, the wine displays a classic mid-ruby appearance that belies its incredible depth.

The aromatic profile is exquisitely layered, evolving in the glass to reveal rose petal, lavender, and tobacco, alongside darker hints of cedar, licorice, and iron.

On the palate, the firmly-structured Nebbiolo is harmoniously bolstered by the fruity depth of Croatina and the spicy, floral lift of Vespolina, resulting in a textural nuance that feels both deep and exquisitely focused.

The wine is defined by its vibrant acidity and fine-grained tannins, offering a savory palate of red cherry and ground clove that carries through to a persistent, mineral-driven finish. Galloni describes the 2016 as "fabulous" and "one of the finest editions yet," noting its remarkable ability to build intensity and inner sweetness with aeration.
