This is aromatically less elegant but a bit more complex with a wide ranging nose of earth, animale, ripe red currant and plum aromas that give way to surprisingly refined yet powerful and well-muscled broad-shouldered flavors that brim with dry extract. The hugely long finish is palate staining and almost painfully intense and there is a subtle touch of wood that surfaces as well though with this much underlying material, it should be integrated quickly.
