Tasting Notes

The real jewel of the production is depicted by this label, a rare example of Barolo produced only when the vintages are unforgettable. Bricco Voghera is a Cru in Serralunga d’Alba, calcareous and compact soils, Azelia has always owned vineyards here where the real secret is the vines from 95 to 104 years of age with very low yields that also thanks to the southern exposure result in wines out of the norm in complexity. Selected grapes that are vinified with submerged cap for 60 days in steel tanks, aging is then done in large wooden barrels for 60 months followed by another 60 months in the bottle. The beauty of 2900 bottles produced, hints of underbrush with notes of plum and violets that evolve into chocolate in the minutes, in the mouth it is generous but firm with round tannins that end in a finish of wonderful freshness.
