Tasting Notes

There's a freshness to the 2012 Burge Family reds that has been missing at times in the past. It's pure Barossan fruit doing the talking, sans overt oak and with all its faculties intact. Joy of life in a red wine bottle. Mix of black and red berries, licorice, gritty tannin and a firm confidence to the finish. It's not especially dark or concentrated, and is certainly not soupy. And yet it has impact. It's an excellent Draycott. James Halliday
