Tasting Notes

Critic Scores:

  • 100 – Raffaele Vecchione, WinesCritic.com

Representing the premier, first-ever Riserva release from the estate’s heralded single plot, this exceptionally rare bottle represents a strict barrel selection born from the historic, five-star 2016 vintage. Sourced from older vines sitting at 350 metres in Montalcino's rugged northwest sector, the fruit benefited from an optimal growing season that yielded immense structure balanced by intense cool-climate aromatics.

Following meticulous manual selection and cement fermentation, the wine underwent an extensive maturation process, resting for a total of 63 months—including 36 months in oak tonneaux—before bottling.

In the glass, it flashes a deep crimson density, unlocking an incredibly intricate bouquet layered with wild blackberries, plum juice, and liquorice, beautifully punctuated by secondary notes of rose petals and fondant chocolate.

The palate is powerfully built yet weightless, anchoring a rich texture of dark berry notes with a pristine, limestone-driven acidity.

Acclaimed by Raffaele Vecchione of WinesCritic.com with a perfect three-digit score, he lauded its complex sensory architecture, describing it as an "incredibly elegant design showing complexity and sensory purity" that effortlessly transitions into a remarkably long, seamlessly tailored finish. With only 3,940 sequentially numbered bottles produced globally, it stands as an absolute monument for elite collectors
