Fresh mid purple. I cannot pick up a lot of bouquet at this stage. The 2022 Clos des Chênes is tightly wound with quite high acidity, fresh red fruit but only at the back do I start to see the magic of this vineyard. More elegant and prettier aromas include those of red and dark currant, violet and discreet earth nuances that are trimmed in more subtle wood influence. The racy and agreeably textured medium-bodied flavors possess a refined mouth-feel and a subtle miner¬ality that becomes more apparent on the dusty and youthfully austere finale that displays impressive power.
