Tasting Notes

An earthy, ripe and overtly floral-suffused nose of red and dark berries, poached plum and crushed anise is trimmed in moderate wood as well as a mentholated top note. The mouth-feel of the larger-bodied flavors is at once quite rich and energetic with an abundance of sappy dry extract that coats the palate and buffers the firm tannic spine shaping the powerful, serious and balanced finale. I would add that in the context of what is typical for the wines from Les Epenots, this is nicely refined. Drink 2034+. 91-94 Points (Outstanding + ❤) - Allen Meadows Burghound

A fine glowing purple. The bouquet delivers a little bit of vanilla from the oak, married to an exquisite class of fine red fruit, even a floral note. This is complete in all departments, just a little darker fruit at the back alongside the fresher red berries, both working well together and in harmony with the acidity and refined tannins. Drink from 2029-2037. 92-94 4 Stars - Jasper Morris MW

Rich, seductive, and dense. Flows on a river of bitter chocolate. Certainly rich, but refined. It is sumptuous and deep, but deliciously fresh, to boot. 2028–35+. 95-96 Points - World of Fine Wine, Sarah Marsh MW
