Tasting Notes
Emerging from a classic Bordeaux growing season that triumphantly defied initial skepticism, this historic second wine is crafted with the exact same meticulous precision as the Grand Vin. Sourced from the estate's younger vines under the rigorous selection standards of the Mentzelopoulos family, the wine undergoes extensive refinement in premium French oak barrels. In the glass, it pours an alluringly deep ruby-purple hue.
The aromatic profile unfolds with real elegance and power, offering a beautiful symphony of ripe blackcurrants, succulent cherries, and delicate spring flowers underpinned by subtle wood smoke, forest earth, and classic cedar.
On the palate, the architecture is opulent and remarkably fleshy, striking a flawless stylistic bridge between Cabernet Sauvignon’s natural structural poise and Merlot's supple sensuality. Celebrated critic Robert Parker captured its generous texture, observing that the wine is "lovely, ripe, and opulent", maintaining an integrated, harmonious frame that resolves into a delicate and exceedingly fresh finish.
