Tasting Notes

A great location in the center of the cru. This has a more mineral nose with a stony, flinty edge with gentle herbs and lemon and grapefruit citrus. The palate has a very succulent taut core of tangy peaches and green mangoes. Very powerful, long, energetic palate here. A fresh almond finish. Drink or hold. -James Suckling. Confirming its promise from barrel, the 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons bursts from the glass with notes of fresh peach, citrus blossom, green orchard fruit, beeswax and almond paste. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, with a broad, textural attack, lively acids and excellent concentration. While it's one of the more expressive wines in the range it will reward some bottle age. -93pts, William Kelley for The Wine Advocate.
