Crafted under the masterful guidance of Fabio Alessandria at the historic Verduno estate, this classic expression captures the essence of traditional winemaking using fruit meticulously selected from prime family parcels. The 2020 growing season shaped a Barbera focused primarily on lightness and immediacy, leaning away from heavy structural extraction to champion pristine fruit purity. In the glass, it radiates a vibrant, deep ruby hue with bright purple undertones.
The aromatic profile unrolls gracefully, giving way to an open-knit bouquet dominated by fresh red berries, light baking spices, and delicate floral top notes.
On the palate, its medium-bodied architecture delivers a soft, accessible, and loose-limbed texture, framed effortlessly by the variety’s signature crisp, cleansing acidity.
Renowned critic Bruce Sanderson highlights this beautifully balanced core in his 90-point evaluation for Wine Spectator, observing that the wine is not overly flash but delivers an authentic, satisfying presence that "adds depth to the cherry and blackberry fruit flavors" through its refreshing finish.
