Tasting Notes

Youthful purple/red colour. There are quite complex aromas of plump dark fruits, black cherry and plum, fresh leather, a little aniseed and almost a dark chocolate note. In the mouth, the fruit flavours are rich and layered, tannins smooth and well-integrated with a sumptuous finish. A wine that belies the relatively humble standing of the dolcetto grape. (Late-picked grapes, 28 days maceration during and post fermentation, 7 months ageing in stainless steel—no oak—racked twice during this time.) Tasted June 2021.
