The 2022 Hill of Roses is an exquisite, next-generation expression of its famous parent site, defined by a "red-fruited heart" and a level of aromatic finesses that feels both seductive and allophanic.

Emerging from a season of remarkable cool-climate clarity, the wine opens with a heady perfume of violet, potpourri, and exotic five-spice, woven into a core of blackcurrant pastille and milk chocolate.

On the palate, the fruit is pristine and taut, transitioning from youthful exuberance into a sophisticated landscape of chinotto, sage, and crushed minerals. While possessing a deceptive power, its structure is notable for "silky, cashmere-like tannins" that provide a seamless, alluring texture without the density of its older-vine sibling.

Jeni Port awarded this vintage a near-perfect 99 points, hailing it as a "beautiful, super elegant expression of Australian shiraz" that captures a unique sense of poise and precision.

The finish is strikingly long, marked by a delicate salinity and a firm, structural depth that suggests this wine is only just beginning to reveal its immense pedigree.
