Tasting Notes
Sourced from the historic estate's dedicated one-hectare holding within the "Les Sorbins" lieu-dit—a parcel uniquely situated directly in front of the village of Pommard—this regional classification carries the deeply traditional, structured pedigree that defines the Gaunoux family legacy. The exceptionally warm, sunny 2009 growing season yielded highly concentrated, small berries with generous fruit-led textures. In the glass, it shows a lovely, translucent light-ruby hue.
The bouquet unrolls gracefully to reveal delicate floral fragrances layered against earth-forward nuances and light hints of red-fruited berries.
On the palate, the architecture is balanced, light to medium-bodied, and slightly viscous, demonstrating excellent harmony where medium-plus acidity meets mostly resolved, smooth tannins.
Respected Burgundy authority Allen Meadows accents its early approachability, suggesting that the vintage was specifically tailored to provide reliable regional character and accessible charm from its youthful release onward.
