Planted between 1986 and 2006 on the own-rooted, biodynamically farmed schist gravel embankments of Lake Wanaka, this highly individualistic bottling redefines the typical boundaries of its variety. Hand-harvested fruit underwent careful sorting, a brief foot-crush, and up to three days of skin maceration before a slow, gentle press and native yeast fermentation.

Pouring a clear, luminous gold, this singular vintage masterfully shifts away from classic rosewater clichés into an exotic, highly complex landscape of coriander seed, nutmeg, curry leaf, and earth, punctuated by a fine note of flinty minerality.

On the medium-bodied palate, an incredible interplay between 11.4 grams per liter of residual sugar and a tense, glacial line of acidity creates an off-dry profile that mimics the sublime balance of a fine Vouvray.

Lush layers of ginger-infused mango, grapefruit, and beeswax are corralled by a robust, chewy basket of earthy, structural tannins that stretch out into an impeccably concentrated, persistent finish.

Championing this release as an extraordinary departure from traditional New Zealand styles, Stephen Wong MW of The Real Review lauded its captivating aromatics and remarkable structural length, observing that there is "no mistaking the depth, concentration and length."
