Sourced from the historic eight-acre block planted in 1973, this 2023 release is a profound expression of a cooler, more temperate growing season that favored elegance and aromatic precision.

The wine displays a vivid crimson-purple hue and a brooding, complex bouquet where cassis and dark cherry are intricately woven with black pepper, floral nuances, and a savory hint of graphite.

On the palate, it is masterfully medium-bodied, balancing fruit purity with a sophisticated silky structure of superfine, persistent tannins. Philip Rich of Halliday Wine Companion highlights its refined nature, describing it as "a little more compact and precise" than its stablemates, with 10% whole-bunch fermentation providing a subtle stalk grip that grounds the succulent plum and berry fruit. The finish is remarkably fresh, carrying notes of aniseed and a whisper of smoky char across a long, harmonious tail.
