Tasting Notes

A poignant tribute to the family matriarch, Robyn Pamela Farr, this prestigious cuvée is drawn from high-density plantings across the North, Northeast, and East-facing slopes of the Côte Vineyard. The 2021 season yielded fruit of remarkable concentration, benefiting from a complex mosaic of volcanic loam, limestone, and sandstone soils.

In the glass, it presents a deep ruby hue with exceptional clarity, leading into an intricately layered bouquet of dark cherries, smoked smallgoods, and earthy forest floor.

The palate is defined by a serene fluidity—a hallmark of this site—where ripe plum and five-spice flavours are seamlessly integrated with fine-grained, detailed tannins and a vibrant, direct acidity.

Maturation for 18 months in 60% new Allier French oak provides a sophisticated structural backbone that ensures a long, persistent finish. Huon Hooke highlights its "seriously impressive concentration," with critic Huon Hooke describing it as an "extraordinary pinot noir" that remains taut, tense, and direct through its lengthy finale.
