  • 95 – Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front

From Chatto’s Isle Vineyard in the Huon Valley, the 2025 Intrigue is a powerful, deeply concentrated expression of Pinot Noir, drawn from all eight clones planted at the site.

Bright in the glass, it unfolds with dense black-cherry fruit alongside subtle woodsmoke, alpine-herb, mineral and iron-rich nuances, with sweet cedar integrated through the palate.

Firm and textural yet finely focused, the wine balances its considerable power with remarkable length and a persistent finish.

Campbell Mattinson awarded the wine 95 points, capturing its distinctive combination of concentration, structure and persistence: “So much power here and with it, length.” He considers it a wine requiring time, with the potential to become brilliant as it relaxes in bottle.
