Champagne Devaux - D Collection

Champagne Devaux (est. 1846) is the leading producer from the Côte Des Bar region in Champagnes south region where over 50% of all Pinot Noir in Champagne is sourced for Houses including Krug. Due to its proximity to Dijon, Pinot Noir is King in the Côte Des Bar and the variety dominates many of the Cuvées (Devaux refers to this as the backbone of the House). The D collection is the principle range & showcases Devaux’s dedication to long ageing before release, with a minimum of 5 years on lees for the NV range & 10 years for the Vintage Cuvée.

At the Decanter World Wine Awards in London this year Chief Judges Stephen Spurrier (you’ll remember him from the movie ‘Bottle Shock’ – played by the late Alan Rickman), Andrew Jefford and Australia’s own Michael Hill Smith MW scored the most recent disgorgement of Devaux Cuvee D 97 points and Platinum Medal in the Champagne category, outscored only by the 2004 Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Millenaires  @ $379/btl. This special disgorgement arrived in Australia this past weekend and Wineaway are the first to offer this wine nationwide.

Cuvee D is poured at Restaurant Gordan Ramsey (3 Star Michelin) plus many 3 star Michelin in France including Guy Savoy (Paris), Pierre Gagnaire (Paris) & Anne Sophie Pic (Valence) to name just a few. Devaux Export Manager Jean-Noel Girard joined us earlier in the year at our Devaux Champagne Masterclass where he guided us through these exquisite Champagne’s. Beautifully packaged in an impressive slick shaped bottle with metal-plated labels with limited gift boxes also available - Salute!
