Tasting Notes

Typical Duke's Shiraz, with the elegance of a ballet dancer floating across the stage lifted by unseen strands of tannins. Tasted January 2020. 95pts. Drink to 2030. James Halliday for Wine Companion.

A near perfect season with good rains in spring. A warm growing period and ripened in sunny, dry weather. A fantastic crop of ripe berries. Deep ruby colour. A nose of fruitcake and spice. The palate is rich and powerful with cherry and plum. The long finish reveals the soft tannins of the Porongurups. Beautifully balanced French oak shows the winemakers finesse. Age 10-20 years.
