67/13/13/7% cabernet/merlot/shiraz/petit verdot. Hand picked, sorted, fermented in open-top vessels and pressed directly to French barrels (30% new), resting for 18 months. A beautiful wine of exquisite detail and perfume. Currant, mulberry, violet, mulch, mint, graphite, anise and black olive. Sage-rolled tannins, impeccably hewn of sinew and fine grained oak. Delicate, sappy and mellifluous. So measured. So classy. Dangerously easy to drink already, it reminds me of a great chinon. I feel guilty spitting it. Ned Goodwin MW for James Halliday
