A vibrant entry into the Ornellaia portfolio, the 2021 Le Volte captures the concentrated essence of a warm, dry growing season that yielded small, high-quality berries.

This Merlot-led blend presents a signature ruby red hue with purple reflections, opening with a lively bouquet of sour cherry, pomegranate, and raspberry, accented by Mediterranean herbs, tobacco, and light spiciness.

On the palate, the wine is celebrated for its remarkable balance and "creamy textured finish," as noted by lead critic James Suckling, who describes it as a "firm and silky wine with bark, berry, chocolate and light coffee aromas and flavors."

Its structure intertwines the plush tannins of Merlot with the structural depth of Cabernet Sauvignon and the refreshing liveliness of Sangiovese. Aged for 10 months in a combination of concrete tanks and seasoned barriques previously used for the estate's flagship wine, it achieves a polished, "crunchy" acidity that makes it both playful and versatile.
