Crafted under the biodynamic mastery of Jean-Marie Fourrier and resident winemaker Adam "Skip" Francis, the 2024 flagship vintage marks a historic milestone as the first Premium Pinot Noir vinified entirely at the producer’s state-of-the-art Kardella facility. Sourced exclusively from choice, low-yielding rows within the original 1979 close-planted estate vineyard, the cool and protracted growing season concentrated the fruit into a wine of immense structural power.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby-to-garnet hue, unfurling with highly defined, bright red cherry and plum aromatics combined with complex undertones of Campari and crushed-rock minerality.
The palate is exceptionally firm, tense, and muscular, underpinned by evident premium oak integration and a tightly wound core that requires patient aeration.
The texture is svelte and satiny, revealing impeccable balance and a complete, persistent finish that extends into a dramatic peacock’s tail. Leading critical consensus, Huon Hooke awarded the wine 97 points, highlighting its profound depth and observing that it is a "firm and somewhat shy at first pour, with oak still evident, it has great depth and should reveal even more if given time."
