The 2023 Art Series Chardonnay arrives from a growing season lauded as one of Margaret River's finest of the decade, characterised by a mild, consistent summer that preserved exceptional fruit purity.
The wine presents a luminous, youthful straw-gold, leading into a highly detailed bouquet where ripe pear, white peach, and zesty lime are enriched by complex layers of toasted cashew, nougat, and delicate floral jasmine. On the palate, the power is delivered with a "searingly intense" focus (Huon Hooke), underpinned by a sophisticated architecture of 100% new French oak that has been seamlessly absorbed.
The texture is both creamy and refined, balanced by a vibrant, crystalline acidity and a subtle saline minerality that extends into an immensely long, sophisticated finish. Critically heralded as a "new high water mark" for the estate, Ken Gargett awards this release 99 points, describing the wine as "pristine, intense, beautifully balanced and seamless."
