Tasting Notes

Richmond, Coal River Valley; planted 2014; hand picked; fermented and matured 5 months in old French oak puncheons. An impeccably crafted take on young-vine riesling. Subtle exotics of star fruit and spicy persimmon elevate a core of kaffir lime, grapefruit and fig. Zesty yet creamy, puncheon fermentation softens texture without any interruption to purity. A little grapefruit pith phenolic bite delivers structure without coarseness. Medium-term potential. Tyson Seltzer
