Tasting Notes

Critic Scores:

  • 96 Points – Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
  • 96 Points – Houn Hooke,The Real Review

Sourced from Max and Sue Kitchell’s Glaziers Bay vineyard, located just a kilometre from Jim and Daisy Chatto’s estate, this exceptional release displays a bright, mid-ruby appearance.

The aromatics open with a distinctive wisp of struck flint that threads through an intense core of pure red plum, cranberry, and dark raspberry fruit.

On the palate, the wine reveals a lithe, deeply layered, and complex nature, seamlessly weaving savory nuances of enoki mushroom broth, charcuterie, char siu, and nori sheets with delicate meadow flowers and crushed riverstone.

Critic Dave Brookes awarded the wine 96 points, noting that "there's a wonderful maritime energy to this wine," which displays sapidity and sinew in perfect proportions. The finish shows impressive velocity, echoing with purity and filigree on the fade-out, establishing it as a highly sophisticated cool-climate benchmark.
